If you’ve watched the newest “Deadpool & Wolverine" trailer, you might be wondering, “Who’s playing Lady Deadpool?” Rumors are swirling that it’s Blake Lively or maybe even Taylor Swift.
As Entertainment Weekly revealed recently, that despite internet rumors, Swift is not playing Dazzler. So could that mean she’ll cameo as Lady Deadpool?
Swift has been known to dress up as Deadpool on occasion for Halloween, so it would be a neat nod, given that the costume was an official one, loaned from Reynolds himself.
On the other hand, fans are speculating hard that it could be Blake Lively, which could also make it a fun return to superhero fare for Lively, since she met her spouse on 2011’s much derided “Green Lantern.” Also the character of Wanda Wilson was originally modeled after Blake Lively, so it points in that direction.
Another question… Who is Lady Deadpool?
Wanda Wilson is a Deadpool variant from Earth-3010. Her first appearance was in Deadpool: Merc With a Mouth #7, which was released on February 28, 2010. The issue was also the first appearance of Earth-3010 and 6466. A 9.8 CGC graded copy recently sold for $325 on June 11th, 2024 on eBay.
Lady Deadpool was created by Victor Gischler and Rob Liefeld, and the variant has been featured in several comics, including Lady Deadpool vs. General America and the Deadpool Corps stories. The storyline being that on Earth-3010 there is an uprising against the loyalist government in the United States. Much of her storyline involves her butting heads with the Captain America variant, General America.
Wanda Wilson was killed in Deadpool Kills Deadpool Vol. 3, when she flew her ship “Bea Arthur” into Galaticpool’s head, which unfortunately also took her out. Less sales exist for that issue, and a 9.8 CGC graded copy last sold for $70. They appear to sell for around $10 raw, so picking up a copy wouldn’t set you back much at all.

So once again… who is playing Lady Deadpool in the upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine?” From the looks of the trailer, the titular duo will be jumping across the multiverse in an attempt to evade Cassandra Nova Xavier. Along the way, they are likely to run into many variants of themselves, including Lady Deadpool.
Well we’ll have to wait until July 26th to truly find out, but as a comic book fan it’s been fascinating to speculate what star will be underneath the the variant merc with a mouth’s mask.
