Wolverine #2 Review

Wolverine an' Spidey go SNIKT!

The Good

This direction for Wolverine is great. Readers are reminded this issue that Wolverine is mortal and lacking his healing ability. The introduction to this issue shows Wolverine taking on a group of thugs. You can tell that Wolverine has not changed much even though his abilities are limited. It is a struggle to take this group on.

Spider-Man is introduced this issue. Even though they don't seem to be getting along at first, they come to realize they have a lot in common. I was picking up on some key hints that this is Superior Spider-Man (Doc Ocs version so to say). They do have a long discussion regarding Wolverine's current state.

During this meeting between Spider-Man and Wolverine the readers are now introduced to Wolverine's ulterior motives.

The suspense keeps the reader's interest. The dynamics of Spidey and Wolverine's relationship is good so far. Although Spider-Man may not be around for awhile, I wonder how this would have played out if Peter Parker was rescuing Wolverine.

The plot line is not very suspenseful, just a little insightful. Spider-Man makes for a fresh addition.

The Not So Good

The plot for this issue is slow. Readers wanting an action filled storyline will need to search elsewhere. It feels as if issue 1 and 2 were very identical, with the introduction of Spier-Man being the only big change.

The Bottom Line

Wolverine fans hoping for a rich plot line will not find it with this issue. This issue follows up well to issue #1 but it falls short an is lacking any real progression. There are no surprise twists and this can leave the reader feeling bored. Overall this issue is just above mediocre. This series feels as if it won't be picking up with the next couple issues.

Get the most out of your chirps with these few tips:

  1. Use @username to mention a specific user.
  2. Use @GCIN (replace GCIN with the proper number) to mention an individual item.
  3. Use #subdomain to mention a specific collection. To find the subdomain of a collection, simply look up in your browser's address bar. The subdomain is the letters that follow the 'http://', but come before the '.gocollect.com'. For example, the subdomain for comics.gocollect.com would just be comics (used as #comics).
  4. Use a hashtag (#) directly in front of a word to make it a search link.
