This book was one of my favorite Superior Spiderman issues so far. It was great. The book is filled with action as The Superior Venom takes on The Avengers, Carley Cooper joins the Goblin Underground, as she is transformed into 'Monster", and we get a few more surprises along the way. If you want to be surprised, I do suggest you stop reading this and read the comic first.
This book does a great job at ending The Darkest Hours arc, with Flash Thompson being able to get the symbiote back, leaving The Superior Spiderman free of its reign. After all of this crazy fighting throughout Manhattan, where The Avengers are losing, and the citizens of New York are bashing Spiderman, we get a nice surprise as soon as Flash Thompson rips the symbiote off of Spiderman, and takes it back for himself. Peter Parker is still inside of his body subconsciously, and he is actually the one who helps free his body from the symbiote! This is something that all of us Superior Spiderman readers have been waiting for since issue one, and I must say I was really surprised to find out that he was not actually wiped out by Octavius.
Slott's writing in this book was great, advancing the story, while juggling between so many different sub-plots throughout the books. The art in this book was also phenomenal, and each panel was filled with action and emotion.
As I said before, Slott was juggling between many different plot-lines, which I had noticed to be happening throughout this entire arc. With the book being a bigger sized issue this time around, it may not be as prevalent, however it is still there and may be confusing to some readers.
This book is a must read for any Spiderman fan, whether you have been following The Superior Spiderman or not. All fans of Spiderman are waiting for Peter Parker to return, and with this book we get the hope back, and it is safe to assume that within the next few issues we may actually be getting what we have been waiting for. I'm giving The Superior Spiderman 25 a 4.8/5
