I've definitely enjoyed this small stories that are being done for the anniversary of Spiderman's death. I was happy to see Joe Casey was a part of it, and we would get a little more of a mature story, after the first two issues didn't have much of that in store. If you haven't been reading this "mini-arc", Spiderman finds himself in The Black Lodge, which is an underground hospital for criminals. In #700.4 the hospital crew finds out that it is actually Spiderman, and not a criminal, which ultimately builds up to an action packed fight for Spiderman and the villains in the hospital, and ends with the destruction of the hospital. It's been a year now since we have seen this more modern Spiderman, whereas in the first two issues of this mini-series we saw a bit more of a all ages Spiderman. This book definitely has me wanting more Peter Parker, and I'm hoping the rest of this series does as great of a job as Joe Casey has done with it.
As for the art, Timothy Green adds a dark tone to this criminal hospital, which I thought was really cool. Although we didn't get to see Spiderman in his red and blue costume we've all missed so much, Green puts together an awesome "mummy" Spiderman, and draws a lot of cool action into the panels.
Although the story is great, it seems a little bit rushed. I would have liked to see this drawn out into maybe four or five issues instead of two, especially because it's a Spiderman story I've been itching for for so long.
Although the story told here is a short one, it is still a good one, and I always say quality over quantity. I would have liked to see a bit more of this, however we are still getting some more Spiderman stories from other writers. For all you Spiderman fans out there, if you're going to pick up any of these celebratory Amazing Spiderman issues, I recommend picking up Joe Casey's two issue story. I'm giving The Amazing Spiderman 700.4 a 4.6/5
